Memorial Guestbook

……and the Angels of the Lord descended from
Heaven to take him home.

Mitchie Mitchell died on the morning of Sunday,
January 28, 2007.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Thank you for your support, prayers and taking the time to sign our guestbook. Below are some excerpts from the Mitchie’s Memorial Guestbook.

My Dearest Friend Joyce, You are one of the best examples of a “mothers love”… unselfish, giving, faithful and true… “Mitchie” has just gently moved away from your “physical” loving arms to our Heavenly Fathers eternal ones. The songs that you sang to him are being sung by the Angels. Thank you for sharing the love of your son with all of us. It was evident in EVERYTHING you did and do for others even when your heart was heavy! You always proclaimed the goodness of the LORD.

Joyce, You were Mitchie’s strength. I have never known a more loving, stronger mother who gave everything for her son. In turn you gave us the opportunity to share the love of life and energy that Mitchie enjoyed. You were both an inspiration to me. I shall always remember Mitchie smiling and flirting in the halls with all those girls, they all loved him. We all loved him.

I do not know you or your family personally, but I was browsing the internet and read your story. Your story is an inspiration to me and may God continue to bless you and your family.

Dear Joyce and Family: Nothing more can be said that would describe Mitchie’s spirit. Joyce, you gave that to Mitchie. You are the best of mother’s. What you and Mitchie did and have done for the citizens of Texas is beyond measure. I have been so honored these many years to have known you both. My love and thoughts will be with you all forever.

My heart goes out to you and your family. I lost my 22 year old son-in-law to a drunk driver in 2001. My daughter became a very young widow; my granddaughter will never know her father and the city of Austin lost a dedicated police officer. May God bless you during this very difficult time. Thank you for your work against drunk driving.

Most of us spend our whole lives and never do anything as important as the work that Mitchie did. I’m sure that he saved lives…how many of us can say that? What a brave and wonderful boy. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
